Happy New Year 2009 started out with a BANG

Every year when the clock strikes midnight for a new year to start, I always wonder what the year will hold. Will there be sorrow? Will there be happy surprises? What kind of changes will occur in this new year. I usually feel a bit of anticipation for a new year that is full of potential. Well just a few days after the new year rang in, I was up on a Sunday morning looking forward to church, Andy and I were going to be starting to teach the fifth and sixth Graders (a new adventure for us for the new year), I went into the bathroom preparing for my shower, as I adjusted the temperature of the water I attempted to put one foot into the bath, well, low and behold the night before my youngest daughter had taken a long bath and somehow emptied all of the hair conditioner onto the bottom of the tub. Well as I stepped in, as you can guess I slipped and flew up into the air landing on my head onto the sink and twisted my neck. As I lay there, I think to myself, "am I still alive?" "Wow did that hurt!" Than proceeded to yell for my sleeping husband. So, yes my year has already started out with some surprises. My neck has been xrayed and it is okay, just a bad sprain and a big bump on the noggin. So I am in bed for the next few days or hopefully not weeks. I look forward to some "good" surprises now for the new year and will take this time in bed to relax and prepare myself for this busy and hopefully productive year.
